Aurobindo Pharma Foundation unveils Aurobindo Oncology Block at MNJ Cancer Hospital to provide tertiary cancer care and specialised treatment services to poor, underprivileged patients bringing us a step closer to ensuring affordable healthcare for all.
MNJ Institute of Oncology & State Cancer Institute was first established by Nawab Mehdi Nawaz Jung in 1955. Starting as a 50 bedded hospital, it continued to expand to a 450 bedded facility. However, due to increase in incidence of cancer, and the growing popularity of MNJ, the hospital is currently working at double its capacity by tending to around 1,000 patients every day.
In order to expand the facility and increase the reach of MNJ, Aurobindo Pharma Foundation has constructed a new oncology block on 2 acres of government allotted land. This 2,32,000 square foot, 8 floor building has a capacity of 300 beds and consists of many facilities such as 30 wardrooms, exclusive pediatric & adolescent wards, 8 bone marrow transplant rooms, 2 underground bunkers for targeted radiotherapy, 2 operation theatres and molecular & genetics lab.
On 16th April 2023, Aurobindo Oncology Block was unveiled by Sri T. Harish Rao, Hon’ble Health Minister for Telangana State, Sri G. Kishan Reddy, Hon’ble Union Minister for Tourism, Sri K.
